In the media: AI is transforming wealth management roles, not replacing them

Insights

Our CEO, Rami Cassis, recently wrote an article for WealthBriefing about how AI is upskilling the wealth management workforce rather than replacing it.

AI has become a must-have tool across wealth management and is streamlining tasks from client onboarding to regulatory compliance through fraud detection. Machine learning models can now flag money laundering and insider trading as it happens.

With this adoption, portfolio advisors have more time to focus on clients’ specific needs, and compliance teams can focus on key issues such as regulatory oversight and cybersecurity. Rather than shrinking those teams, firms are finding their remit has widened to cover AI governance.

With chatbots handling routine administrative tasks like digital diary management, paraplanners can also be redeployed to more fulfilling client relationship and advisor support work. The roles change shape rather than disappearing from the org chart altogether.

Rami argues, ‘AI is not eliminating jobs, it is transforming them,’ and the firms that upskill existing employees and hire AI-ready talent are the ones most likely to stay competitive. The gap will open up between firms that invest in their people and those treating the technology purely as a cost-cutting exercise.
